Make your first guess count.
A strong opener tests common letters without repeating any. Our guide compares popular starting words letter by letter, and the solver takes over once your colors come in.
Questions, answered
Short answers about hints, spoilers and how the site works.
Will the hints give away the answer?
Not unless you want them to. Each hint stays covered until you tap it, and they go from gentle (how many vowels) to strong (what the word means). The answer has its own button.
What time does a new Wordle come out?
The official game switches to a new puzzle at midnight in your local time. Our daily page follows the New York date and shows the date and puzzle number at the top, so you can check you have the right one.
Does the solver use today's answer?
No. The solver only uses the guesses and colors you enter. Checking a guess against today's answer is a separate, clearly labeled option that stays off until you turn it on.
Can I look up an old puzzle?
Yes. The archive lists every published puzzle by date and number, and you can search by word. Answers there are covered too.
Is WordHintHub part of The New York Times?
No. WordHintHub is an independent fan site. Wordle is a trademark of The New York Times Company.
- Checked first
- An answer goes up only after its date and puzzle number match public puzzle records. If they don't agree, the page says so instead of guessing.
- Covered by default
- Hints and answers stay hidden everywhere: on daily pages, in the archive and in recent lists.
- Independent
- A fan-made companion with no connection to The New York Times. No sign-ups and no paywall.
